Prototype Process Reflection/Exhibition Ideas and Planning
a. Summary: We have been making prototypes for our idea for the exhibition. We also voted on which prototype/idea we liked best. Our idea is very similar to the one that was chosen with the rooms of socialization. Theirs was a little more in depth. Now, we are incorporating all of the ideas into this exhibition. I think that it will be hard to do, but possible.
b. Problems we are trying to address: One problem we are trying to address with this exhibition are being labeled before known. When someone sees a girl, they might think she likes pink, but she might hate it. We judge people without knowing them, or what they’ve been through. We are also addressing how different people were socialized. We are addressing these problems by going through the Cycle of Socialization with a different personality.
c. What I’m excited about for the exhibition and WHY: For this exhibition, I’m excited to have an interactive exhibit that is fun and shows our learning and work. Most of the exhibitions that I go to or are in are just people standing with their work and explaining it. The little siblings are begging to leave. I believe that this one will be different.
d. What do you want to work on? I want to work on getting the location and maybe guiding the tour because I need to work on public speaking and I want to lead people through socialization.
e. Reflection: In our group, we worked well together. We did get off task a couple times, but we got our prototype and our video done. In the future, I think putting the on task people together is a good idea because if we don’t, only one person does most of the work. If the people that are off task are together, they will feel more pressure to work, and then the work is all equal.
